Shawn Mendes and Justin Bieber released a new collaboration song, ‘Monster,’ along with the accompanying music video.
Both the song and music videos were initially teased earlier this week by the two social media pop artists and debuted live on YouTube today (November 20).
The clip, directed by Colin Tilley, shows Mendes and Bieber finding a pristine white platform in the middle of the forest. The pair then performs an emotional performance of their song over the stage as the lightning flashes around them.
‘Monster’ is the second glimpse of Mendes’ upcoming album ‘Wonder’ after the title track was released last month. ‘Wonder,’ which marks Mendes’ fourth full-length to date, is expected to fall on December 4.
In an earlier letter announcing the album, Mendes wrote, “It really feels like a piece of me was written down on paper and captured in a song. I was trying to be as genuine and as honest as I have ever been.
“It’s a world and a journey and a dream and an album that I’ve been trying to make for a very long time.”
Mendes’ last album, ‘Shawn Mendes,’ received a four-star review from NME, which described the singer as “[moving away from twee pop to embrace stadium rock and slick funk.”
