K.O. is dismissive of SA Rappers Nasty C and Cassper Nyovest

SA hip hop artist Ntokozo Mdluli, famously known as K.O, has shared how he feels about the way music is in South Africa these days.

The former Teargas member also went on to say that he was one of the greatest musicians ever to come out of South Africa. K.O has been in the music business for more than a decade, and there is no question that he is brilliant. The artist said that in his years in the music business, he saw a lot of change, some for the better and some for the worse.

Nasty C

In his interview with TshisaLive, he referred to some of the hip hop and rap artists who are playing nice games in the industry, such as Nasty C. “Nasty C is fantastic and will no doubt be a deity in a couple of years’ time. I think he’s doing amazing stuff for the country ‚ but if he could somehow incorporate local elements in his music ‚ I think he’d be three times bigger. I understand when people say that his music could be more South African ‚ ‘said the hit maker of Caracara.

K.O also spoke about how awesome he thinks Cassper is and how good his music career is rising but said that the Tito Mboweni hitmaker hasn’t released a revolutionary album yet. “He’s breaking ground, but he still has space to develop musically. He’s going to have to take that rabbit out of the hat. I sense that his magic album is already coming.

In conclusion K.O said that most rappers also mimic American rappers, “Hip-hop has really evolved and is doing well in SA ‚ but we have become our own worst enemy. Too many musicians have missed the flavor that makes them distinctive and have begun to imitate American musicians ‚ he explained.

He is currently working on an album that is set to be released this year.
